The metal
powder is mixed with two binders: a liquid binder and a solid binder.
The mixture, liquid at room temperature, is injected in a mould including
shrinkage. The mould is cooled in order to solidify the injected part.
A sublimation
cycle then takes place to remove the liquid binder.
The removing
of the solid binder is done by thermal process. At this stage the
part is fragile and look like a sponge.
The last
step consists of sintering the part. A shrinkage of around 20 % brings
the part to its final dimensions with tight tolerances.
The density of the part is then > 98%.
